  • NORTH THAILAND LAST TRIBES <br />
<br />
Most of the people think Thailand hosts only one tribe, the vey famous long neck. Much more tribes still live in the north of the country with strong traditions. To reach them by road, you’ll need to like curves : thousands are waiting for you in the hills ! Kor Yor tribe (Kayaw), aka the Big Ears or Long Ears, are of of them. They are called like this as they wear since their youngest age some huge ear rings. Like the Long Necks, they are Karenni refugees from Myanmar. Most of the ones i met are christians, and wear some Jesus cross around the neck. They are different from the long Neck women, as they have their own language and traditions. In Thailand, like the Long Necks, they can be seen in tourists villages that she share. Some critisize those touristic villages but many women told me that thanbks to the tourists they could leave the refugee camp , earn money , and get a better life than just waiting for international aid in the camp. Lahu people live in the mountains of China, Myanmar, Laos and northern Thailand.The Lahu people are famous for their musical instruments, made of wood and bamboo. Uncle Ja Yo, a famous musician, told me that when he was young, he used his Nor Ku Ma to seduce the girls from the others villages, playing loud to attire them all a round the valley ! There are approximately 30 000 Lahus now living in Thailand. There are four tribes within the Lahu: Black, Red, Yellow and She-Leh. I met the Black ones, called like that because of the black colors of the women traditional clothes sleeves. Before, their domestic animals like chickens, pigs and buffalos were kept in the basement corral of their houses, but thai goverment has asked them to separate for health security. So now, you can find 2 villages : one for the humans, one for the animals !

  • Eerie cloud formation shows the 'Thai king come back to life'<br />
<br />
This is the eerie moment the dead Thai King appears to come back to life - in a CLOUD.<br />
<br />
Opor Punyawong, 28, spotted the spooky scene over Chiang Mai, northern Thailand earlier this week.<br />
<br />
It appears to show the outline of the late King Bhumibol as the sun rises behind him.<br />
<br />
Superstitious Thais now believe that their monarch made himself visible to them a month after his death - to reassure them he is still ''watching over the county''.<br />
<br />
Opor said: ''I was looking at the cloud and the shape was exactly like the King. I said to my friends 'look he's there'.<br />
<br />
''We think that he was there in the clouds to show us that everything will be OK. That he is still watching over our country.''<br />
<br />
The death of the Thai King on October 13 aged 88 plunged the country into political uncertainty as the military junta struggles to keep control of rival factions.<br />

  • Thai online commenters are not pleased after seeing photos of a monk in his robes giving inappropriate attention to a female. <br />
<br />
The photos have been circulating on LINE app and have now made their way to social networking sites and even national news. The identity of the down and dirty monk and his “friend” are unknown but that hasn’t stopped people from sharing and speculating.<br />
Even if they are only ordained temporarily, it is very inappropriate for monks to touch females, much less in a lecherous or sexual way.<br />
The series of photos in question, only a few of which are included here, show a man in saffron cuddling, hugging and kissing an unidentified female.<br />
It’s so scandalous for a monk to touch a woman that there was recently an uproar over a newly-ordained monk holding his infant daughter.<br />
Online commenters are calling for action to be taken against the unknown holy man, reported Daily News.<br />
So far, no one even knows when or where the pictures were taken, though, judging from the background, most people speculate that they are on temple grounds, in the rooms usually reserved as housing for monks.<br />

  • Thailand has 4 of the least safe airlines in the world<br />
<br />
It’s well-known that Thailand’s airlines have frequent issues, and a new rating report has confirmed that four Thai airlines rank among the lowest in the world, in terms of safety.<br />
<br />
The website AirlineRatings.com has released their annual survey that awarded 407 airlines around the world with star ratings, from one to seven. A one-star rating is the lowest and a seven-star rating is the highest. The airlines are rated based on a slew of factors related to safety.<br />
<br />
148 airlines won the coveted seven-star rating and Australian carrier Qantas was named the safest airline in the world for the third year running.<br />
<br />
However, 50 didn’t do so well and earned three stars or less.<br />
<br />
In Thailand, Nok Air got a two-star rating, the lowest of all the Thai carriers. AirAsia Thailand, Bangkok Airways and Orient Thai Airlines did only slightly better with three stars each.<br />
<br />
Thai Airways (and their subsidiary Thai Smile) and Thai Lion were the Thai “winners” with just four out of seven stars.<br />
<br />
The stars are given out based on many factors that include crash records, safe landings, certifications, inclusion on international aviation blacklists and more.<br />

  • THREE foreigners living in Thailand have complained of receiving visits by policemen asking them to furnish personal details, purportedly as part of a controversial immigration policy mooted by the authorities for national security reasons.<br />
<br />
According to Thaivisa.com, the three foreigners residing in the northern province of Chiang Mai were visited at home by the uniformed officials who asked them to provide details like their monthly income, height, weight, and even skin color.<br />
<br />
The three, said Thaivisa, wrote about the visits and posted their accounts in the website forum. They claimed that they were asked to provide the details in the ‘Personal Information’ form from the ‘Transnational Crime Coordination Unit Region 5 (TCCU R5).<br />
<br />
Other details requested in the form included the nationality of parents, current address, name of spouse and date of marriage, along with details on their children.<br />
<br />
The ‘Personal Appearance’ section of the form, on the other hand, asked for height, weight, skin colour, hair colour and details of any scars, the website reported.<br />
<br />
A user identified as jak2002003 said the visiting officer had provided a form with incorrect details.<br />
<br />
“Problem was the name on mine was not me…. and the address house number was wrong,” the user was quoted as saying.<br />
<br />
“So I told them I did not want to fill it in. The head man came to take it back the next day.. and told me he has been told that the government has told all the head men to get this information form any Farangs living in their village.<br />
<br />
The user said the form asked for details that were “too personal”, adding the Immigration office had already asked details about frequent hangouts and that the information was already provided during the user’s last entry into the kingdom.<br />
<br />
“What’s going on? Next will be having to report to the village headman and immigration every 90 days?” the user asked.<br />
<br />
“And why do we have to fill the information 90 day forms out AND this new on

Ms. Penprakai (aka Fon) Tiang-Ngoke (32) from Naduang, Loei has won the prestigious Body Builder Competition of Arizona, U.S.A.<br />
<br />
Once a member of the Thai National Team, she owns the Siam Barbell fitness center in Banglamung, Pattaya.<br />

Nong Fon said that she worked in Bangkok as fitness trainer until she graduated from University. To begin with she just wanted to stay fit and perhaps develop a six-pack.<br />
<br />
She began taking body building seriously in 2009 and entered various competitions. In 2010 Fon won her first title and joined the National Team. Soon she had won an international competition in Holland and received a coveted ‘proguard’ award.<br />
<br />
After which she retired from competition but made a comeback last year in order to enter the Arizona Championship, which will lead to entry into the World Championships in Las Vegas in 2017.<br />
<br />
Until now she has been virtually unknown in her home country but, this morning, all of Thailand knows who Fon is and shares in her success. Thailand is proud of Fon’s achievements this week.<br />
<br />
Nong Fon, said that in the beginning her family could not understand her ambitions or what she was doing but now they fully support her in every competition.<br />
<br />
Until now she has funded all of her efforts herself and says that now she would like the Association of Thailand to support young body builders so that Thailand may be able to compete more seriously on the world stage.<br />

  • What is the best way to draw attention to an unrepaired road in your neighbourhood?<br />
<br />
Write a letter to the authorities? Complain on social media? Or protest by sitting in the offending pothole and taking a bath?<br />
<br />
Well, the latter is exactly what a Bangkok-based model called Palm decided to do. She was fed up with the condition of the roads on her route to her relatives in the Mae Ramat district in Thailand’s Tak province.<br />
<br />
So she donned a shower cap and took a ‘protest bath’ in one of the holes that are causing ongoing problems and accidents.<br />
<br />
Photos of the event have been widely shared across social media in Thailand and China. They have inspired others to copy her actions to draw attention to the state of their local roads.<br />
<br />
The woman pictured below in a yellow dress appears to have aped Palm’s protest in Chaiyaphum one of the provinces in north east Thailand.<br />
<br />
A group of grandmothers in Khon Kaen Province, also in north east Thailand, followed suit with a mass bathe-in.<br />
<br />
They complained that the government hadn’t repaired the road for the last 30 years. But they have now been promised that the road will be repaired after the rainy season.<br />
<br />
Palm’s pothole protest also appears to have made a difference. According to reports the governor of Tak Province ordered the relevant agencies to repair the road without delay, and new photos posted on Facebook appear to confirm that those repairs are underway.<br />
<br />
The woman in the yellow dress has also reportedly been promised that action will result from her watery wallow.<br />
<br />
However, some are nor prepared to wait around for officialdom to make good on its promises. A retired German engineer, Peter Goman, has won huge admiration on social media after his Thai wife, Kusuma Namwon, posted pictures of him getting stuck in to help repair roads near their home in Buriram province.<br />
<br />
“Motorcyclists would occasionally fall into the holes, and the people in the houses would rush to them,” Kusuma reportedly said. In addition
