One hundred young footballers have taken training to new extremes at the historic Shaolin Tagou Martial Arts School in east China's Dengfeng city, Henan Province.

The coaching base opened a new football academy on November 10, which will combine Shaolin kung fu with football, 35,000 students currently train at the school but only 100 of those will be chosen to enter the academy. It's intended to become China's way of improving its footballers. The are two classes, split into male and female, with 50 pupils in each. All of the students are aged 10 to 12.

Children who attend the football training have been specifically chosen from the martial arts school, so they are already young kung fu masters in the making.

They know every aspect of the art, which consists of stamina, flexibility, balance, meditation and combat skills.
The academy is equipped with three senior football coaches responsible for training the young athletes and junior coaches.

Training is motivated by the 'great three-five-eight battle plan.'

They expect to see massive improvements in three years, success in five, and to be an established brand in eight years.
• School in Philippines that will teach you how to be a Mermaid!

Looking for a reason to visit the Philippines? This mermaid school should do the trick. No, seriously, there’s an actual school that will teach you how to be a mermaid. It’s called the Philippines Mermaid Swimming Academy.

A couple of years ago, the academy was founded by Anamie Saenz and Normeth Preglo. The duo was looking for a new fitness craze and thought of mermaids!

It’s all pretty simple; students are given mermaid tails that help them focus on their core muscles while they swim around like Ariel.

If you’re really looking to get involved, you can kick things up a notch with mermaid scuba diving and mermaid water scootering.

The best part about the mermaid school? You can be any age and any gender — it really doesn’t matter!

All you need to do is pull together $40 for an introductory class. You get to use a mermaid tail, and you’ll also get photos while taking part in the class.
